Position Summary

The Consumer Loan Officer is responsible for originating and closing consumer loan products while providing high quality service to customers. The role requires the abidance of First Resource Banks’ lending policies and procedures as well as evaluating creditworthiness, ensuring regulatory compliance, and support First Resource Bank’s consumer lending portfolio.

Primary Duties

· Provide exceptional client service that aligns with First Resource Bank’s Client Experience Service Standards policy

· Interview clients to identify consumer lending needs and recommend appropriate loan products

· Originate consumer loans including personal, auto, recreational, mortgage, HELOCs and other consumer credit products

· Explain loan terms, interest rates, fees, repayment options, and disclosures

· Gather, and verify borrower information including income, employment, credit reports and supporting documentation

· Analyze consumer credit worthiness in accordance with First Resource Bank policies, procedures and underwriting standards

· Ensure adherence to consumer lending regulations including Fair Lending, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg O, and BSA/AML requirements

· Maintain consumer loan portfolio by conducting reviews of past due loans, upcoming renewals, extensions, and maturity reports; initiate customer contact and take appropriate follow-up actions in accordance with bank policies and provide timely updates to SVP of Retail and Credit Risk Officer

· Cross-sell First Resource Bank products and services

· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and FRB staff

Qualifications

· Excellent verbal communication skills

· Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity

· Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

· Thorough understanding of evaluating credit reports, and income documentation

· Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines

· High school diploma or equivalent experience in consumer lending, retail banking, or financial services
